Twenty years’ experience of working with ministers and senior officials in Whitehall, Cardiff and Brussels on a wide range of water and environmental policy areas means that Water Policy International can provide advice based on a sound understanding of ‘how things work’.
- Developed policy and converted it into draft legislation for the Water Act 2003. Worked directly with Government Ministers and Parliamentarians from all parties to ensure smooth passage and informed debate, and similarly for the Water Act 2014.
- Expert witness at numerous Lords and Commons Select Committees and Inquiries on all aspects of water
- Developed the evidence base and promoted the policy, and necessary legislative changes, to facilitate compulsory household water metering in areas of serious water stress in England
- Part of the OECD team on its review of water governance in the Netherlands (published March 2014), and currently part of their work reviewing water governance and the use of economic instruments in Brazil. Also advised the OECD on its international reviews of water allocation, water quality management and pollution regulation
